Monthly Meet-up: From New Idea to Entrepreneur, 18 August 2009 (PAST EVENT)
Most women don't think of themselves as entrepreneurs when they set out to develop their idea for an innovative service, new product or invention. They just feel they've got a great idea that needs to be done. Along the way though, something changes. As they make it to successfully launch and market their "baby" they find "entrepreneur" is the only term that fits. - But just why is it helpful to think like an entrepreneur not an ideas person?
- What are the traits of so-called "entrepreneurs" that make the difference to success?
- Can we take any short cuts to becoming an entrepreneur?
Join us for the She's Ingenious! August meeting when guest speaker Sue Scott Horne will be sharing her journey into business with her brainchild EGAR Educational Games and Resources. A journey that has led the grandmother of 4 to... * successfully launching and marketing her products through her own website, * winning a 'Special Recognition Award' BFIIN International * becoming a finalist in the BlackBerry Women & Technology Awards 2008 * and winning a chance to talk her business through with Dragon Peter Jones. Every month there's a She's Ingenious! networking meeting with a purpose. Come and learn about a key topic in the product development life cycle and network with other ingenious women also on the journey to making their product ideas and inventions a profitable reality. Who should attend? - Women with new product and start-up ideas
- Anyone already marketing their own products
- Professionals interested or involved in bringing new products to market
