Probably the best Google tool in the world
Cally Robson March 09

Would it be useful to know how many people searched the Web last
month for your new product or business idea?

... I thought so...

Here's the tool that let's you discover on the spot if there's a
ready MARKET for your new product or business idea.

1) Visit Google's keyword tool at
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

2) Select the country you'd like data for.

3) Input the most likely keyword or phrase your future customers would
search for.

4) Fill in the security word.

5) Hit "Get keyword ideas" and watch the coloured balls roll.

6) The returned columns tell you exactly how many people Google
estimates did a search for your keyword(s) in the previous month
and on an average month.

7) PLUS how many searched for related terms that Google suggests are
relevant.

8) If you're looking at 10s of people searching, it might be you've
got a bad idea. More likely is that you need to get into the head
of your customer and find the right keywords they'd use.

9) If you're looking at 1000s, even if that's with a number of
combined search terms, then you're onto something.

10) Use the related terms to see where fine-tuning and targeting your
idea could win you more customers.

11) Always cross check the keyword results with Google's Insights tool
at http://www.google.com/insights/search
