On June 18 2009 we're celebrating the official launch of the Association of Women with New Products and Inventions and its website ShesIngenious.org.

The get-together at the British Library Business & IP Centre will feature key speakers and be a gathering of industry experts, successful inventor-entrepreneurs, and women's business network leaders.

As well as great networking, there's plenty to celebrate.

For women, the launch of She's Ingenious! is an exciting acknowledgment of...

• The explosion in women starting their own businesses, UK and worldwide, even in the current economic downturn.
• A new focus on the importance of doing business sustainably and ethically, with values that are traditionally important to women.
• The power that cheap global Internet access gives women to be their creative selves AND turn their ideas into income streams.

For small business and innovation in general, the need for a site like She's Ingenious! dedicated to representing women designer-inventors heralds an increasing recognition of the part individuals have to play in delivering innovative solutions and products in our fast changing world.

For me personally, it's the triumph of evolving my straightforward coaching practice that started in 2003 into an interactive online community website that acts as a central source of help and inspiration that many women can access at once, as and when they need it.

So whatever your interest in developing new products and inventions, I hope you'll join us for the launch party celebration.
