Pitch Your New Product To High Street Retailers
28 December 2009

Got a killer product for the high street? This new BBC TV series, to be made under the watchful eye of retail expert Theo Paphitis of Dragon's Den, could help you make the right connections and do the deal with a major UK retailer.

Production company Maverick TV, makers of Gok Wan's How To Look Good Naked is on the look out for innovative products that deserve shelf space with a high street retailer but whose inventor or designer hasn't yet found the route to market.

You might have come up with a new fashion accessory, jewellery range, DIY or garden gadget, skincare product or healthy beverage or pet food. It doesn't matter. Maverick TV are simply looking for that killer idea that should be available from all major stores around the country.

Maverick TV representative Howard Mills told She's Ingenious!, "We are currently taking applications and open days will be held in the New Year, with filming beginning as early as February 2010."

Selected applicants will be given the chance to pitch their new products to the most influential buyers in retail. They're on the hunt for Britain's hottest undiscovered design talent. But the ideas must be uniquely different from anything else already out there, and they must have mass market appeal.

If you think your new product makes the grade, visit Maverick TV's website to complete the application form. Or call their office on 020 7874 6617 or email highstreet@mavericktv.co.uk for more details.

As always, when pitching your product idea or in any way sharing or going public with it, make sure you understand the potential Intellectual Property in your idea and have taken steps to protect it.
