BFIIN Awards 2011 To Go Ahead 5th October

No hanging about for this one... Bola Olabisi, head of the Global Women Inventors and Innovators Network, has announced that the British arm of the network (BFIIN) will go ahead with an awards competition and ceremony alongside the British Invention Show 2011 in London. If you have launched a new product or innovative business concept do consider entering.

Nomination Criteria/GUIDELINES

If you would like to nominate someone for the BFIIN INTERNATIONAL AWARDS, please follow the instructions in the nomination form available from office@gwiin.com . Please complete in English and print in block capital letters.

We are looking for exceptionally creative, inventive, innovative, entrepreneurs, scientists, engineers, technologists, designers from all sectors and background. Our winners may be very different, but they will have in common: tenacity, the determination to succeed, commitment, extraordinary potential, someone whose positive influence could spread, transcending borders, something that can contribute to the future and quality of life on earth.

They may also have created a new device or system or process capable of impacting millions of people for the better. They may be brilliant scientists, or the inspired designers of simple, cheap technologies.
 
They may have leadership qualities, attract loyalty and respect. They may inspire the support of colleagues and employees. They may build powerful teams, capable of dramatically leveraging the impact of their efforts.  They are likely to be relentless in pursuing their goals. They hardly ever give up.

1. The deadline for receipt of an award nomination for 2011 is 26 SEPTEMBER 2011.
2. You may self-nominate and sign the terms and agreement for nomination below.
3. Please complete all the information asked for below, where it is not relevant to you simply put N/A.
4. After completing this form/checklist, please email it as an attached MS-Word document to
office@gwiin.com
5. We will confirm receipt of your submission, but we cannot comment on the status of a nomination after it is received.
6. Please note that should the judges need further information they will contact the nominator or/and nominee by email.

4. Exceptional Creative, Inventive, or Innovative Micro-enterprise or New start up business with no more than 10 employees
5. Exceptionally Creative, Inventive, or Innovative Small business with more than 10 to 49  employees
6. Exceptional Creative, Inventive, or Innovative Medium sized Industry with more than 50 – 250 employees
7. Exceptional Creative, Inventive, or Innovative Large Industry with more than 250 employees
8. Innovative Capacity Building Initiatives or Projects
9. Exceptional Creative Inventors/Innovators In Higher Education & Learning Institutions
10. Product Design and Development
11. Inventive or innovative team (the woman needs to have made a significant contribution to be recognised and all members of the team must agree to the nomination).
12. Chairman's Discretionary Award
13. Lifetime Achievement Award

What happens after nomination:

*The nominee will be notified before the end of September 2011 whether the nominee has qualified to be a finalist for THE BFIIN INTERNATIONAL AWARDS 2011.  All finalists will be invited to exhibit for validation at the BFIIN INTERNATIONAL Expo & Awards scheduled to take place, 5 October 2011 at Royal Overseas League House, London. (please note that GWIIN takes the validation part of the Judging process as a crucial aspect of the Judging, it is therefore important that if for any reason the finalist is unable to attend, a representative is present for the validation period at the exhibition). 

As a finalist you will be invited to the full BFIIN international programme to exhibit and promote your product or service.

 

Also, one out of every top ten finalists will have the opportunity to win the prize of participating at the BIS Show.
