    But what IS RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It's an easy way of collecting together information, like news headlines, from various websites. RSS allows you to view information from a number of sites in one place and keep up to date with new content soon after it is published.

How do I get an RSS feed?

You'll need to install a program called a news reader which automatically retrieves and then displays the information you want from your selected websites.

How do I find a news reader?

There are many different news readers available, and many are free. Most are applications that you download and install to your computer. Below is a selection:

N.B. shesingenious.org is not responsible for external sites and services like these.

Web-based (Our opinion: quicker to set up)
Google Reader www.google.com/reader/ (If you use Google a lot, it's easy to see content updates on your Google search page)
    My Yahoo http://my.yahoo.com
    Bloglines http://www.bloglines.com

    Windows
    NewsGator www.newsgator.com
    SharpReader www.sharpreader.net
    Newz Crawler www.newzcrawler.com

    Mac OS X
    NetNewsWire www.apple.com/downloads
